According to the Sanya Tourism Board, from Mar. 25-26, the Board will attend the Routes Asia conference in Perth, Australia as well as hold several marketing and promotion activities in Australia and New Zealand. These activities aim to deepen international aviation and tourism cooperation, promote connectivity between Sanya and the Australia and New Zealand markets, attract more international travelers, and develop Sanya into a well-known international tropical beach vacation destination.

The Routes Asia conference brings together major airlines, airport groups, and travel agencies. The Sanya delegation plans to make use of this platform to hold in-depth discussions with international airline and tourism industry representatives in order to explore the possibility of opening air routes connecting Sanya to Australia and New Zealand, as well as developing new combined international aviation and travel products.
Following the conference, on Mar. 27 the Sanya Tourism Board, together with the Hainan Airport Group and a group of Hainan travel and tourism industry companies represented by Hainan Airlines, will hold a tourism promotion conference in Sydney, putting Sanya’s beautiful natural scenery, unique cultures, and high-quality travel and tourism resources on display for representatives of the Australian tourism industry, the media, and other attendees. New, customized packages combining travel with entertainment and sports will also be released and marketed, showcasing the high cost-effectiveness of the Sanya travel and tourism industry and stimulating market interest.
In addition, the Sanya Tourism Board will also pay visits to major local travel agencies and other related businesses to conduct in-person exchanges in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the travel needs and preferences of local residents, explore customized tourism products, and promote multi-level cooperation such as market linkage and joint brand development.
According to a representative of the Sanya Tourism Board, Australia and New Zealand are important emerging source markets for the Sanya tourism industry. Since the beginning of 2025, Sanya Tourism has already participated in the ITB Berlin Convention (the world's largest tourism trade fair) in Germany as well the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition Expo in Russia, opening up new inbound tourism market opportunities. In the future, the Board plans to continue to strengthen ties with the international travel and tourism industry by participating in more international industry events, holding promotional activities, and visiting related businesses.
